14 bit Digitzer optimized for RADAR applicationsAcquisition of digital position data together with analog data is a feature often requested in real world applications, especially when doing RADAR data acquisition. Spectrum GmbH, the German specialist for fast PC data acquisition, now announces four new products, M2i.4028 (20 MS/s) and M2i.4038 (50 MS/s), each available as PCI/PCI-X version as well as PCI Express version offering a special solution for this demand. All cards consist of one 14 bit analog channel and 16 digital channels together with programmable counters.
The new products are based on the proven M2i.40xx series and offer six input ranges between 200 mV and 10 V for the analog channel and sampling rates of 20 MS/s and 50 MS/s with a resolution of 14 bit. Data is written into the 128 MSample large on-board memory which can be extended up to 2 GSample.
In addition to the analog data it is possible to also acquire 16 digital channels. Digital data can either be acquired directly in parallel or using an encoder input. Both modes can also be combined by software command. With these features it is possible to acquire azimuth and elevation angle of a RADAR antenna together with the analog data. The angle information can either be acquired continuously and synchronously with the analog data or using a special marker mode as a single angle information together with each data segment. Using these modes together with the fast continuous FIFO transfer, the programmable trigger delay and the extremely short dead time between segments the card may be adopted to nearly every possible application need.
The card is delivered with drivers for Windows 2000, XP and Vista as well as Linux Kernel 2.4 and 2.6. On all operating systems the 32 bit as well as the 64 bit versions are supported. The easy-to-program drivers and the powerful examples together with the detailed documentation allow a fast development of own applications.
