+/-10 V Amplifier for Arbitrary Waveform GeneratorsThe new amplifier boards MI6xxx-Amp enhance the application areas of the fast arbitrary waveform generators from Spectrum. The arbitrary waveform generators of the 60xx and the 61xx series have been able to generate an output swing of +/-3 V on their four channels. The new amplifier boards now extend this output range to +/-10 V level. This amplifier option is available with 1, 2 or 4 channels matching the channel number of the arbitrary generators. Due to the high bandwidth of 30 MHz these amplifiers can be used with all generators ranging from the entrance-version with 20 MS/s up to the high-end version with 125 MS/s and 25 MHz filters. The amplifiers have an output impedance of 50 ohm resulting in a maximum output level of +/-5 V when used with 50 ohm termination. When using high impedance termination the full output swing of +/-10 V is available.
The amplifier boards are available as PCI, CompactPCI 3U and 6U versions. The boards don’t need active cooling and therefore occupy one slot width only. As these amplifiers have a fixed amplification no additional software programming is necessary.
All features of the arbitrary waveform generators like the programmable gain and offset or the filter settings are still available when using the amplifier board. The arbitrary waveform generators of the 60xx series consist of 8 different versions with 14 bit resolution and output rates between 20 MS/s and 125 MS/s. All versions are available for different bus systems like PCI, PXI, CompactPCI 3U and 6U. The generator boards have 1, 2 or 4 synchronous channels and can be combined using an internal synchronisation bus to multi-board and mixed-mode systems. All cards can be loaded with free defined waveforms using the up to 512 MBytes on-board memory. Detailed information of all products can be found under www.spectrum-instrumentation.com.
