Digital Pattern Generator with programmable Logic Levels

The PC instrument specialist SPECTRUM Systementwicklung introduces the 72xx card family as an unique system solution for universal pattern generation. The card is used in chip, printer or display production tests as well as in research and development.

The main difference of the new 72xx series compared to standard digital pattern generators is the possibility to program low and high level of the signal with 10 mV resolution. For each four channels the levels can be individually programmed between –2 V and +10 V. The full output swing is available with all sampling rates without any restrictions. The card is equipped with powerful output drivers allowing a high output current of 100 mA per channel (200 mA per four channels).

The new 72xx series from SPECTRUM is able to directly connect to several different logic families like ECL, PECL, TLL, LVDS, LVTTL, CMOS and LVCMOS and is also able to test parts in their voltage limits. In addtion to these functions it is also possible to set the channels to a differential mode in hardware. With this mode one only needs one data bit for each pair of differential signals.

The cards are available with sampling rates up to 40 MS/s and with 16 and 32 channels. There are in total 10 different versions available for PCI, PXI and CompactPCI 6U bus. All features that are known from other SPECTRUM cards are also available with the 72xx series. These features contain large on-board memory (up to 512 MBytes), continuous output with fast FIFO mode, external trigger input or external clocking with reference clock.

The cards of the new 72xx series are in production status and are delivered with drivers for Windws and Linux. As an option one may order special drivers for LabVIEW, DASYLab, MATLAB, Agilent VEE or LabWindows/CVI.
