Digital interface BaseXIO for controlling and programming purposes

The new BaseXIO option of the recently introduced M2i card series offers eight asynchronous digital channels. All channels are completely independent from the cards function and can be used to control or program external equipment or to acquire test signals. Some channels also offer special trigger and reference clock functions.

The eight BaseXIO connectors are suited directly on the M2i base card and fit with MMCX connectors. They are attached internally via coax cable with angular MMCX connectors to a bracket offering eight SMB connectors on the outside.
In a group of four the channels can be set to input or output. Which means you can use all eight channels as input or output or four as input and four as output. Two of the channels can be used as additional TTL trigger inputs and one can be used as a reference clock for the timestamp option. Even when you use the special functions it is still possible to capture these channels asynchronously.
When using the timestamp option it is also possible to acquire the BaseXIO channels synchronously at the trigger events together with the timestamps. The synchronous acquisition with the timestamps is independent of the BaseXIO configuration.
The MC card series still offers the known Extra I/O option with asynchronous analog and digital channels.
