M2i (PCI-X) FIFO ModeThe FIFO mode is used to record data continuously in the PC memory or on hard disk. Therefore the complete on-board memory is used as a FIFO buffer to keep the risk of overruns/underrans as small as possible. The data transfer is done by an on-board busmaster DMA controller initiated by hardware. The software can either wait for an intterupt announcing that new data is available or the current transfer status can be polled
Recording of data starts with the trigger event and is running until the stop command is set or an error occurs. The FIFO mode could be combined with Multiple Recording, Gated Sampling or ABA mode.
